Our Story

Making Shabbat easier to celebrate, wherever you are

Where it started

Shabbox started on a college campus. Our founder spent three years active in Jewish life at Rowan University and still found it hard to celebrate Shabbat consistently. The desire was there. Pulling it all together took time, planning and trips to three different stores.

Why a box

What gets in the way of Shabbat usually isn't a lack of desire. It's access, time and ease. So we put everything into one box: kosher challah, grape juice, candles, a kiddush cup, a challah cover and a short prayer guide. You can make Shabbat wherever you are, at whatever level of observance feels right.

"Shabbox lowers the barrier to entry without lowering the meaning of the ritual."
