Frequently Asked Questions
When will my Shabbox arrive?
Every box is shipped to arrive before Friday candle lighting. Order by Tuesday at 11:59 PM Eastern for delivery that same week. Orders placed after that ship for the following Shabbat. You'll get a tracking number by email as soon as your box ships.
Which box should I get?
The OG serves two people and includes everything for Friday night, including a kiddush cup and challah cover you can keep. I've Done This Before is the refill: fresh food and candles for people who already have the reusable items. Baby's First Shabbat is The OG plus a keepsake bib, a plush toy, a board book and a blessing card for new parents.
Do you ship nationwide?
We ship to the 48 contiguous states and Washington, D.C. We can't ship to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories or APO/FPO addresses yet. Shipping is free on orders of $70 or more.
What if I'm not home for delivery?
Your box is left at your delivery address like any other package. Nothing in the box needs refrigeration. If you have delivery instructions, add them at checkout.
Are all items kosher?
All food in every Shabbox is certified kosher.
Is there wine in the box?
No. Every box comes with kosher grape juice, so anyone can use it.
I don't know the prayers. Is that okay?
Yes. The printed prayer guide walks you through candle lighting, Kiddush and Hamotzi, with Hebrew, transliteration and English. Scan the QR code on the guide to pull up every blessing on our website.
What do I do with the prayer guide afterward?
The printed prayer guide contains God's name, so please don't throw it in the trash. Keep it for next week, or follow the simple instructions on the guide for respectful disposal. The blessings are always available on our website too.
Can I send a Shabbox as a gift?
Yes. Just enter their address at checkout. Baby's First Shabbat makes a great gift for new parents. Personalized gift messages are coming soon.
Can I add extras?
Yes. You can add Shabbox kippahs for $6 each, as many as you need.
Do you offer subscriptions?
Subscriptions are coming soon. Follow us on Instagram @the.shabbox to hear first. In the meantime, I've Done This Before is our refill box for returning customers.
What is your substitution policy?
We carefully curate each Shabbox to ensure consistency and quality. However, if an item is unavailable, we'll substitute it with a comparable or higher-value kosher-certified product. All substitutions maintain our quality standards and kosher certification. We'll notify you of any significant substitutions before delivery.
